MPLA in Cabinda Wants Unity to Overcome Political Challenges

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s upcoming political challenges in Cabinda province require greater unity, cohesion, a sense of mission and unconditional support for the party leader, João Lourenço, from its members, said the second secretary of the Provincial Committee, Artur do Carmo Manuel, on Sunday. The politician was speaking during the closing ceremony of the 1st Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Cabinda Municipal Committee, and defended ongoing political mobilization actions for the party’s greater growth. The party leader also said that the work of grassroots organizations in the communities and the commitment of each member to the MPLA is important for the continued qualitative and quantitative growth of the party, given that the country is moving towards a stage that aims to prepare for the 2027 general elections.

“The connection between the leaders of the party’s Provincial and Municipal Committee and grassroots organizations is fundamental, as it is at the grassroots level that the political-party action of any political organization that wants to be successful begins,” he said.To this end, he said, party leaders must maintain permanent interaction with grassroots structures, in order to promote ongoing dialogue and maintain internal cohesion, taking into account the challenges of political organisation and the objectives set by party leader João Lourenço.

The second secretary of the Provincial Committee also stressed the importance of members, without exception, faithfully complying with the guidelines issued by the MPLA president, to work with the grassroots and communities, reaffirming that the commitment of each member and supporter is crucial to the party’s continued qualitative and quantitative growth.

Artur do Carmo asked members of municipal and communal committees to fully commit themselves, and to show greater commitment and dedication to the work that must be done at the grassroots level, in order to make them more functional.
