Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA in the municipality of Caconda, Huíla province, will implement, starting next March, a project called “Leader in your Neighborhood”, in order to help solve the community’s “small” problems.
To execute the program, already approved by the leadership of this party, the members of the committee in the municipality, as well as the management at the level of communes, neighborhoods and sectors, will take part in the project, who will travel to the communities to identify problems that are possible to resolve with limited resources.
When reacting Monday, at the 8th Ordinary Meeting of the MPLA in Caconda, the party’s municipal secretary, Nandim Capenda, stated that the idea is to bring solutions to those small problems, such as the issue of cleaning and sanitation, the painting of one or two classrooms, among others that can, as a party, make this contribution.
“We want to show that as a party we will support the Government in solving existing problems in the community, but to this end we will have direct involvement with actions that, even if small, will help make the lives of our populations easier in their areas”, expressed.
The program will begin in March, said the source, noting that it will last throughout the year and once a month go to a neighborhood to carry out small improvement actions and talk to activists, friends and supporters about the their main concerns.
Nandim Capenda considered that party leaders have an obligation to find solutions, rather than presenting problems, as most of them are already known.
“We complain a lot about sanitation, but anyone who knows the party knows that it had Red Saturdays and the purpose was to carry out actions aimed at the issue of cleanliness in our communities and we didn’t have the health problems we have today”, he stated.
The MPLA in Caconda controls 43 thousand 171 militants, divided into 394 Party Action Committees (CAP).
