Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first provincial secretary of Luanda, Manuel Homem, defended, this Friday, the need to strengthen the party’s base structures, aiming for better insertion in society and facing future challenges.

By intervening in the provincial political act of opening the organic process of the term renewal assemblies of the action committees and the district and municipal review conferences, the politician asked for greater commitment from cadres and activists to the growth of the party.

According to the party leader, the MPLA’s grassroots organizations constitute the support and foundation of the entire organizational structure and the main instrument of political action.

For this reason, he continued, the MPLA’s political agenda for this year establishes the need to strengthen the organization and functioning of the party’s structures, with a view to making them more modern, dynamic and active, leading the main political, economic and social in the country.

“Therefore, we must continue to promote training, training and the consequent permanent evaluation of party leaders and officials, at all levels, in order to improve the development of human capital within the MPLA and the permanent commitment to the party”, he highlighted.

He underlined that the opening of the organic process aims to make members and society aware of the MPLA’s main actions and guidelines, balancing and projecting the activities that will lead the party to face permanent challenges in the fight to maintain power.

According to the party leader, within the scope of the new political-administrative division of the province of Luanda, the implementation of the municipal process requires the intensification of action and presence in communities, greater interaction with civil society, churches, sports associations, professional associations and youth, as well as women’s groups existing in the circumscriptions.

Members of the secretariat of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, the executive committee of the provincial committee, party staff and activists took part in the event.
