Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Namibe, Archer Mangueira, said that voting for the MPLA is a guarantee of stability, preservation of peace and national reconciliation, democratic continuity and a commitment to carrying out projects aimed at solving the problems of the populations, “and we are, therefore, confident of an expressive victory”.
Archer Mangueira said these words when addressing the party’s militants, friends and supporters, during the mass act, which marked, on Saturday, in the municipality of Tômbwa, the launch of the pre-campaign in the province. “Voting for the MPLA is to bet on the party’s leader, João Lourenço, for having demonstrated the ability to make changes and guide the country towards development, which has a special attention for youth”, underlined the politician.
He appealed, by the way, to the militants and the people not to listen to the speech of hate and violence, in order to preserve democracy and national reconciliation. The politician considered that the incendiary words, which certain people are launching, only serve to provoke disunity among Angolans.
“We can no longer allow war to take place on our land. Therefore, it is necessary to close ranks against those who appeal to violence and who practice vandalism,” he said, asking MPLA militants, friends and sympathizers for greater vigilance and commitment to the actions developed by the party, to achieve the expressive victory, announced by President João Lourenço.
He said that five years later, after the last election, “we now have the responsibility and the political and moral duty to be accountable to voters”. “We are going to show what we have accomplished, what the Executive has produced. We have a duty to say how we did it, but also to explain what we did not do and why we did not do it. It is our political, moral and constitutional duty”, highlighted the politician. .
The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Namibe, Archer Mangueira, said that it is necessary to permanently listen to the populations, no matter where they are, as it is necessary to make a deep connection between the militants and their families. These actions, he said, “are important for the decisions that the central, provincial and municipal Executive have to take into account, in order to make the right policies”.
“It was with this sense of listening that, over the last five years, we have been doing the work to improve the lives of the populations”, assured the party leader. He added that, despite the difficulties, the MPLA militants managed to do a lot of work in favor of people’s lives, such as, for example, “improvement of production in the fisheries sector, the operation of airports and ports, roads, health, education, employment promotion and water supply and electricity supply”.
