Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the Political Bureau of the MPLA for Organisation, Mobilization and Insertion in Society, Gonçalves Muandumba, promised yesterday to intercede with the Central Government for the reinforcement of the actions of the PIIM in Huambo province.
The party member, who was speaking to the press after holding a debriefing meeting with members of the MPLA leadership in Huambo province, where he worked for the last five days, said that he will seek to request an increase in the portfolio of projects of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), mainly for the rehabilitation of roads.
Gonçalves Muandumba pointed out that from the findings made, there is still constraint in the PIIM, essentially, in the construction of roads in the peripheral districts of the city, where only 10 kilometers are available, of the more than 20 projected by the local Government.
Therefore, he informed that, together with the party leadership, a request will be made, within days, to the Central Government to reinforce road construction projects, to allow better movement of people and goods, with a focus on improving the socioeconomic condition of the population.
