Africa-Press – Angola. Political parties stepped up their mobilization of the population this weekend to strengthen their ranks in the country’s capital and in some provinces, where voters are receiving the message with skepticism, given the deterioration in the population’s standard of living.
In this exercise, according to Novo Jornal, two political parties with seats in the National Assembly, namely the PRS and FNLA, are “missing”, which has provoked a wave of criticism from their members, who want to see their parties in action, with a view to the 2027 elections.
The leadership of the ruling party dispatched its vice-president, Mara Quiosa, to Bengo province this weekend, where she reiterated that “the party is prepared to continue to face challenges with courage and determination, but it needs everyone, as politics cannot be done alone and requires the people and the active participation of each citizen.”
“We must consolidate our democracy, strengthen social inclusion, accelerate industrialization, and ensure that young people continue to have more opportunities for work and participation in political life,” said Mara Quiosa, speaking at a rally in the municipality of Muxaluando.
UNITA president Adalberto Costa Júnior, who met with women from various social strata in Viana, said that they are the majority and must lead the transformations of this country.
“Imagine an Angola where women are not just victims, but protagonists. Where street vendors have protection, students have dignity, professionals have opportunities, mothers have security, and grandmothers have respect. That future is not a distant dream. That future is called 2027,” said Adalberto Costa Júnior.
The leader of PRA-JA Servir Angola, Abel Chivukuvuku, was in the populous municipality of Cazenga, where he reiterated that the party is prepared to win the 2027 elections, with the aim of ensuring a positive, orderly and peaceful alternation.
“We want to govern with everyone, without exclusions. The country cannot continue to be divided between winners and losers,” said Abel Chivukuvuku, stating that the majority of the population in Angola suffers because of poor governance.
“PRA-JA Servir Angola is determined to end hunger in Angola and eradicate extreme poverty if it wins the 2027 elections,” the politician added, stressing that there is no justification for “a country blessed with many natural resources to continue to suffer.”
In recent times, the country has seen an unprecedented surge in political activity, with the holding of congresses and conventions.
PRA-JA Servir Angola and the Democratic Bloc have already renewed their mandates at the party leadership level, with congresses of the Angola Majority Alliance Party (PALMA), CASA-CE and UNITA scheduled for October and November of this year.
The historic parties – MPLA and FNLA – agreed to carry out this exercise at the end of next year.
