The 1st secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, José Martins, urged Saturday, in this city, the party’s cadres to be prepared to face the challenges of the new Political-Administrative Division from one to two provinces (Cuando and Cubango ), taking into account the resulting requirements.
The politician made this exhortation to the staff at the provincial opening of the process of review and renewal of mandates for the assemblies of the party’s action committees and the MPLA’s communal and municipal conferences, which took place at the Menongue gymnasium.
José Martins also drew the attention of MPLA staff and leaders to be prepared in relation to the implementation of local authorities, taking into account the challenges that the process will impose.
“The party needs to count on everyone, but for the chains of command or direction, the best MPLA staff and its organizations must be there”, defended the politician,
The 1st Secretary said that this task must be guided in the spirit of strengthening the cohesion and internal unity of the militants, rewarding, for all purposes, the best cadres and militants, those who are capable of directing and achieving positive results expected by the people in the province, municipality, commune, village, neighborhood and action committee.
On the occasion, he defended greater engagement and involvement of militants in actions aimed at strengthening the party’s internal life, strengthening democracy and improving management and accountability mechanisms and responding, with clarity and effectiveness, to the main challenges of the current context. , superiorly guided by the central body of the MPLA.
For the first secretary, party members must be engaged to overcome the challenges of the present and the future, working on the basis of unity, from the base to the top, through fulfillment of the MPLA motto: “All for the bases, all for the communities.”
Present at the opening were the first municipal secretaries of the MPLA, members of the executive committee, the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA) and JMPLA.
