Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cuabango, João Yambo Miguel, recommended, Monday, in Menongue, that the JMPLA play a greater role, to consolidate the role of the party’s nursery, in favor of the sustainable development of the province.
João Yambo made this statement during the act that marked the opening of the Jornadas Abril Jovem, having assured that the party relies on youth as its strength and its hope for the challenges of the future.
The politician said that greater action, dynamism and readiness are needed within the youth organisation, as it constitutes the largest fringe of Angolan society, aimed at maintaining order, security, public health, combating vandalism of state assets, in favor of of the development of the province.
He recognized JMPLA’s arduous responsibility in society and encouraged its militants to be ever stronger and more united, in addition to maintaining their ability to intervene in communities.
It guided even more work and organization of the intermediate structures, which will undergo an analysis of its current state of operation, in view of the next challenges of the party.
The opening act of the Abril Jovem journeys brought together over 120 young people affiliated with JMPLA, as well as a lecture on “The life and work of José Mendes de Carvalho-Comandante Hoji-Ya-Henda and his legacy for youth” .
