Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Cabinda said, this Monday (18), that the party is working hard to “regain the three seats lost in the Cabinda constituency in the 2017 general elections”.
Marcos Nhunga, who was speaking at the opening of the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Provincial Committee of the party witnessed by the deputy coordinator of the monitoring group of the Secretariat of the MPLA Political Bureau for Cabinda, Ventura de Azevedo, highlighted that, in order to achieve this objective, it is essential that militants during the pre-campaign and campaign period effectively and responsibly convey the leader’s message, as well as the electoral program for the five-year period 2022/2027.
“In order for the party to win over the three deputies lost in the 2017 editions, it is essential that the militants responsibly assume the transmission and dissemination, correctly, of the message of their leader and of the MPLA’s electoral program, for the five-year period 2022/2027”, underlined Marcos Nhunga, adding that militants should also promote debates on social networks to counteract the disinformation and slander campaigns promoted by what he called “political detractors”.
The politician urged militants to also take a leading role in mobilizing the population in workplaces and schools, in order to combat misinformation and other types of behavior, which are promoted against the party and undermine voter confidence.
“We must continue to moralize society, fighting rumours, tribalism, regionalism and other forms of discrimination, behaviors that undermine the confidence of our voters”, reiterated Marcos Nhunga, for whom the efforts expected from militants in mobilizing potential voters will be fundamental for the party to be able to overcome the challenges of the future.
