Africa-Press – Angola. Luanda – The Draft Law on the Right to Popular Action and the Draft Law on the Right to Petition will be discussed and voted on, in general, at the 5th Extraordinary Plenary Meeting of the National Assembly, scheduled for the 27th of January.

This information was released this Monday by the first secretary of the board of the National Assembly (AN), Raul Lima, at the end of the Conference of Parliamentary Leaders, which set the agenda for the extraordinary plenary meeting.

The Draft Law on the Right to Popular Action, a legislative initiative by the Government, and the Draft Law on the Right to Petition, an initiative of the UNITA Parliamentary Group, aim to strengthen citizenship.

The leader of the MPLA parliamentary group, VirgĂlio de Fontes Pereira, said that both diplomas are confluent in terms of strengthening citizenship in a democratic and law-abiding state, advocating, therefore, the need to unify the two diplomas into a single one.
