Africa-Press – Angola. A primary school, with a capacity of seven classrooms, was inaugurated this Thursday, for the first time, in Muangai commune, Moxico province, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty ( PIDLCP).

The school infrastructure, budgeted at 63 million kwanzas, to accommodate 630 students, from initiation to sixth grade, in two periods, was inaugurated by the municipal administrator of Moxico, Constantino Horácio Sachamuaha.

In addition to the seven classrooms, the infrastructure, which also includes administrative offices to accommodate the management and teachers’ room, as well as bathrooms, cost the municipal administration 63 million kwanzas.

As part of the implementation of the Integrated Intervention Plan in Municipalities (PIIM), the inhabitants gained a system for capturing, treating and distributing water, with the capacity to pump 10,000 liters per day, with the respective laundry and changing rooms, costing 12 million and 500 thousand kwanzas.

On the occasion, mayor Francisco Lumai praised the initiative of the municipal administration, requesting the implementation of other social infrastructures in the district, such as improvement of the communication route, electricity and the increase of staff in the education and health sectors.

In turn, Moxico’s municipal administrator, Constantino Horácio Sachamuaha, said that the inaugurated infrastructure was part of a response to the population’s concerns, with a view to improving the basic conditions that affect the communities.

The commune of Lutuai – Muangai, is one of the three communes in the municipality of Moxico (provincial seat), which is located south of the city of Luena, 242 kilometers away.

It has 12 thousand and 146 inhabitants who are dedicated to agriculture and fishing.
