Africa-Press – Angola. Around a ton of various medicines were delivered this Saturday to the Municipal Hospital of Mbanza Kongo, by the Government of the Province of Zaire.

These are physiological serums, antibiotics, analgesics and anti-malarials delivered by the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, as part of a visit to the aforementioned health unit.

On the occasion, the director of the Municipal Hospital of Mbanza Kongo, Ndembe Kumbu Ives, said that the batch of drugs received will reinforce the stock of drugs and help any occurrences that occur at this time of year.

He informed that 44 patients are hospitalized in that health unit, of which 36 are children with problems of malaria, severe anemia, respiratory diseases and acute diarrhea.

According to the doctor, an average of 200 patients are treated per day at the aforementioned hospital, with malaria being the most frequent pathology.

The governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, said he liked what he saw in terms of the technicians’ readiness and the stock of drugs available.

He took the opportunity to appeal to the population to refrain from indecent behavior in this festive season, denouncing the perpetrators to the competent authorities.

The Municipal Hospital of Mbanza Kongo has a capacity of 100 beds and has 10 doctors and 56 nurses.
