Africa-Press – Angola. The National Air Force (FAN) remains irreplaceable in the surveillance and defense of national airspace, in the transportation of personnel and logistics, as well as in the projection of forces and resources in cooperation missions with other branches, the Ministry of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland considered this Tuesday in Luanda.
In a congratulatory note on the 49th anniversary of the FAN, a branch of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), the supervising ministry recognizes the success and performance of its responsibilities in the context of National Security and Defense. As an example, it cited the numerous engagements in support of the actions of the Angolan Executive and civil society, relating to the country’s economic, social and cultural programs, and not only in support of Angola’s political and diplomatic actions. To this end, it urged FAN personnel to increasingly engage in the ongoing Restructuring, Resizing and Re-equipment process of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA). It recalled that the branch has been provided with more technically and technologically advanced resources to ensure greater operational capacity in the fulfillment of its missions. The FAN celebrates its 49th anniversary, with the motto “Confidence in the Future, United Forever”. On January 21, 1976, the Angolan People’s Air Force/Anti-Aircraft Defense (FAPA/DAA) was founded, the forerunner of the FAN, with the main mission of Defense, Surveillance of the National Airspace and the Territorial Integrity of the Angolan Nation.
