Africa-Press – Angola. The 2nd commander of the National Police in Huambo province, deputy commissioner António Ambrósio Chagas, yesterday appealed to the population to strive for exemplary behavior during the general elections on 24 August.

The commissioner official, who was speaking during the commemorations of the 26th anniversary of the Police Unit for Security of Strategic Objectives (UPSOE), which is being marked today, said that it is important that the population refrain from the practice of acts that promote social disorder before, during and after the lawsuit.

He added, quoted, that the current moment, marked by emotions, taking into account the approach of the general elections of 24 August, demands a dignified and exemplary posture from the population.

Deputy Commissioner António Chagas said that it is important that during the electoral period the population denounce all acts that harm the State in the most varied aspects or capable of creating feelings of insecurity in the communities.

Angolans will go to the polls in August, for the fifth time, for the General Elections, with the aim of electing the President of the Republic, the Vice-President of the Republic and the deputies to the National Assembly, after 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.
