Africa-Press – Angola. Fifty-eight billion and 432 million kwanzas will be invested in the rehabilitation of lot 5 of National Road 100, which connects the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza-Sul, Benguela and Namibe. The award ceremony for the contract took place yesterday in the municipality of Egipto Praia, in an event witnessed by the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, and the provincial governor of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
The project involves the construction of 50 kilometres of road, on the stretch between the Evale and Cubal do Lumbo rivers, with the work to be carried out by the construction company Omatapalo Engenharia over a period of 24 months.
On the occasion, the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, reported that National Road 100 had already undergone rehabilitation from Cabo Ledo to Lobito, but the lot now allocated included two types of interventions, namely the deep rehabilitation, maintenance and conservation of the road.
The works also include earthmoving, paving, longitudinal and transversal driving, sidewalks, public lighting and road signs. The minister stated that National Road 100 is one of the main road axes in the country, as it crosses the entire coastline, ensuring connections to both the North and South, with emphasis on Luanda.
