Africa-Press – Angola. The National Swimming Team worked, this weekend, at the Alvalade swimming pool, in Luanda, the specialties foreseen in the African Championship of Zone IV, taking place from the 14th to the 18th of this month, in Lusaka, Zambia.
During two hours, the group guided by coach Artur Henriques was submitted to several sessions of rapid tests, correcting the positioning and game models in breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle styles.
The team also performed a sprint, as well as movements to guarantee resistance before and during the competition.The team entered the second week of preparation.
Regarding the preparation, the specialist in fast events (100 meters freestyle and butterfly), Emanuel Lutango, acknowledged that the group has increased the levels, which is visible through the improvement of personal marks.
As for possible opponents, he pointed out the need to pay more attention to the host team, which in addition to evolving at home, can register more swimmers in the event, which gives it some favoritism.
In turn, Rafaela Santo said that the group is filled with fast athletes capable of shouldering toe-to-toe with any opponent, with the aim of improving the eighth place, obtained in 2020, in the city of Gaberone.
The National Team includes José Cochofel, Rafael Bredel, Alex Fortes, David Padre, Marco Furtado, Rafaela Santo, Ana Nunes, Jasmine Lourenço, Djamel Pires, Nyriam Morais, Inara Santos, Milena Lourenço and Rhanya Santo. Filipe Freitas, Yusseni Furtado, N’hara Fernandes and Maria Freitas join the group already on the competition stage.
