Africa-Press – Angola. More than one hundred (100) swimmers from different countries on the continent officially recognized (Monday), in Luanda, the Alvalade Swimming Pool, which will host the 16th edition of the African Championship, to be held from the 30th of this month to May 5th.

During three (3) hours, in the morning training period, swimmers from Angola, Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Tunisia, Botswana, Benin, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana stood out in the Olympic tank. , Morocco, Burundi, Malawi, Eswatini and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The second period, in accordance with the rules of the African Swimming Confederation (CANA), starts at 3:30 pm, with appropriate warm-ups, and should end at approximately 7 pm.

This is the first time that the country has organized a major event in the sport, after six participations, the last being in Tunisia, in 2022.

In the African competition, Angola participates with 17 swimmers, of which nine are male and eight are female.

The Egyptians, South Africans and Algerians are among the biggest candidates to win the race. South Africa (holder of the trophy) is the most decorated team in the competition, with 10 titles.
