National Water Council Reviews Activity Plan

Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, is presiding on Monday in Luanda over the 1st ordinary session of the National Water Council (CNA), which is reviewing the proposed activity plan for 2026 and its respective budget.

The Vice-President of the Republic is presiding over the meeting which has one of its main point of agenda the review and approval of the summary draft of the minutes of the II Ordinary Plenary Session of the CNA, held in December 2025.

The council members will also analyze the degree of compliance with the resolutions and recommendations from the previous session, as well as the activity report for the 2025 fiscal year.

The agenda also includes instruments considered fundamental for strengthening the sustainable management of water resources in the country.

The National Water Council is a permanent advisory body that ensures coordination between the different ministerial departments linked to the planning, management and use of water resources, within the framework of national river basins shared by Angola.

It is an advisory body to the Head of the Executive Branch in the field of water resources.
