Africa-Press – Angola. New Army soldiers swore allegiance to their homeland when they finished, this Thursday, the 20th basic military course, at the Troop Instruction Center “Heróis de Kangamba”, in the municipality of Chicala-Cholohanga, central Huambo province.
The closing act of the course, which took 45 days, was presided over by the commander of the Army, General João Serafim Kiteculo, in the presence of the authorities of the municipality of Chicala-Cholohanga, general officers and superiors, heads of the divisions of weapons and services of Central Military Region and family members of the new staff.
Among the practical and theoretical content of the military course, combat techniques, military engineering, moral and civic military education, united order, justice and discipline, salute regulations, military honors and military topography stand out.
Speaking at the ceremony, the army commander, general João Serafim Kiteculo, said that the process of basic military instruction for new troops is part of a set of strategies to respond to the challenges of restructuring and modernizing the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
This strategy, he said, aims to provide the three masters of the FAA and, above all, the Army, with technical and tactical elements, in order to respond to any situation that points to the destabilization of the Angolan territory.
According to the military official, for the FAA to play its true role, it is important that they have elements, duly trained and equipped with integrity, that is, devoid of greedy and destructive ideas of military doctrine and regulations.
General João Serafim Kiteculo appealed to the need for the military to permanently maintain the principles that guide military life, such as the rescue of civic, moral and patriotic values, the correct use of uniforms and social networks, in order to reinforce discipline and the good image of the national defense agency.
He appealed to the new troops to be subject to scrupulous compliance with the principles of military life, with emphasis on hierarchy, military discipline and single command, instruments by which it is possible to comply with the guidelines issued by superiors.
He added the need to maintain, under all circumstances, a rigorous political non-partisanship, in line with the commitment to the Nation, as well as not to confuse the military corporation as a job, entering it with preconceived ideas of immediacy, materialism and consumerism.
“With these qualities it will be possible to respond to the challenges of the present and the future, to guarantee the defense of sovereignty and National Independence, with the guarantee of freedom and security of the population against aggression and other types of internal and external threats, as well as such as the development of missions of various natures for the good of the Nation”, he said.
On the occasion, he made it known that the new soldiers will be placed in various military units of the Army, where they will have to put into practice the knowledge acquired, assuming that only a troop, duly prepared, will be able to fulfill the tasks entrusted to it.
In this way, he continued, this military body will be more reinforced and rejuvenated with new ideas, judging by the constant transformations that society is undergoing.
