Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Quipungo, province of Huíla, has had a new municipal administration structure since Tuesday, built and equipped within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
The structure, type B, whose construction cost more than 200 million kwanzas and the equipment more than 40 million, has support areas for the municipal administrator and his deputies, legal, among others, in order to give greater dignity to employees and provide faster service to users.
In a press interview, after the inauguration of the structure and a meeting with the administration, the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, said that the priorities in the municipality of Quipungo are several, but providing better conditions for employees who work there is important for the process. of solving community problems.
“We are building municipal administrations in almost all municipalities and we believe that if we obtain more financial resources we will do so in the two missing municipalities (Caconda and Chipindo) and thus have a decent structure”, he said.
He highlighted that during the meeting strategies were outlined that will improve the conditions of employees and how they should respond quickly to the concerns of citizens who use the municipality’s services.
The local administrator, José dos Santos Vital, said that the structure gives greater dignity to administration employees and effectively represents the State’s Local Administration in the district.
“This infrastructure has brought motivation to employees and will bring more work and delivery from staff, as the fundamental thing with a good structure is not just beauty, but looking at the focus, which is the interest in serving our populations. This is what we must internalize in a way that dignifies the structure and our represented populations”, he reinforced.
The municipality has a portfolio of 14 PIIM projects, valued at one billion, 714 million 548 thousand 810 kwanzas. Located 120 kilometers east of Lubango, it has the communes of Chicungo, Cahinda, Tchiconco, Sendi, Ombo (unofficial) and the headquarters. It has an estimated population of 208 thousand 820 inhabitants.
