Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Provincial Council of Lawyers in Bié, António Buta, clarified today, in the city of Cuito, the benefits of citizens becoming lawyers, when in conflict with the Law, so that their rights are safeguarded.
António Buta was speaking to the faithful of the Evangelical Church of the Brothers in Angola (IEIA),
as part of the celebrations of the 4th anniversary of the existence of the OAA Provincial Council in Bié, marked on the 7th of February.
The official highlighted the role that lawyers play in Angolan society, especially as an essential body that contributes to the good administration of justice.
António Buta therefore called for the need for city dwellers to increasingly gain the culture of establishing or seeking out these legal professionals, with the aim of also preventing justice from being taken into their own hands.
The occasion served for the council to promote free legal consultations to believers of the aforementioned church, on matters related to crimes, family, work, civil, customs, among others.
However, the deputy secretary of the IEIA in Cuito, pastor Analtino Tavares, considered the lecture and legal consultation promoted by the OAA in Bié to be positive, which allows it to contribute to the dissemination of the advice as well as encouraging the faithful and not only to seek out lawyers.
The province of Bié, central Angola, with almost two million inhabitants, has 56 lawyers and 84 trainee lawyers.
