Africa-Press – Angola. The Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, announced, Wednesday, in Coimbra, Portugal, that the “territorial expansion of provincial services has as its “primary challenge the understanding of its importance and usefulness by the holders of the bodies of Local State Administration”.
Florbela Araújo, who was speaking at the closing of the International Congress on Human Rights, also presented as challenges of expansion, the functional framework of the institution with the implementation of the municipalities and with the traditional authorities as target entities.
The Ombudsman made these pronouncements when talking about “The Role of the Ombudsman and its Incidence on Provincial Services in the defense of Human Rights”, on the eve of the International Day of Ombudsmen that is marked this Thursday.
