Africa-Press – Angola. 1,525 tons of various agricultural and fishing products were transported, in 2023, to the main consumption centers of Caxito and Luanda, within the scope of the Rural Commerce Goods Transporters Plan (PTMCR).
When taking stock of the aforementioned plan, the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, Pedro Katendi, informed that the transport of these products was due to the delivery of 20 vehicles, by the Executive, which allowed for an increase in the transport of rural products for consumption areas.
It is worth remembering that the transport plan included the province of Bengo with 20 vehicles (10 in 2022 and the same number in 2023).
Regarding the fairs scheduled in 2023, out of a total of 12 planned, seven were held, which allowed the sale of 199,057 tons of various products and a turnover of around 52,768,050 kwanzas.
Bread and table bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes and citrus fruits were the most traded products in these competitions held in the six municipalities of the province.
The fairs also made it possible to create a business environment for buying and selling, signing contracts and motivating producers to pay greater attention to national production, increase production capacity and create more jobs, he said.
