Africa-Press – Angola. The 5th International Engineering Congress begins today, at 9:00 am, at the Talatona Convention Center, in Luanda, with the participation of experts from Mozambique, South Africa, Brazil, Portugal, Namibia, USA and Germany.
The information was provided yesterday by the engineer and member of the organization, Chivanga Barros. This edition, he highlighted, is held under the motto “Engineering, Innovation and Society”. The congress, he said, an initiative of the Order of Engineers of Angola (OAS) includes debates on safety, occupational and environmental health. The thematic sessions, he said , will be given by members of the Order of Technical Engineers of Portugal (OETP).
The OAS member revealed that the congress, scheduled to end this Friday, will be a space to provide debates and reflections on the importance of Engineering in the country’s development.
“The congress aims to reflect on possible strategies and the implementation of diversification, inclusion, economic and social sustainability, based on the principles of technological innovation characteristic of the work of engineers in the country”, he said.
Chivanga Barros informed that the meeting will increase the level of knowledge and the importance of engineering in the country. The main theme is “Engineering, innovation and society” and was chosen as a bet for diversification, inclusion and sustainability. The impact of industrialization on the development of the sector is another topic to be debated.
Among the topics under debate, he said, are “Innovation in society”, where an approach focused on Geopolitics and Cybersecurity in the digital era will be taken. During the meeting, he said, the future of the sector will be analyzed taking into account the National Space Program .
