Africa-Press – Angola. The bravery, courage and determination shown by the heroes of the 4th of February should inspire Angolans in the search for solutions for the country’s development, considered this Friday, in Caxito, Bengo province, the first secretary of the MPLA, Maria Antónia Nelumba.
Speaking at a lecture on the route and achievements of the heroes of the 4th of February, the party leader in the province said that the history of Angola has always been associated with the active participation of men and women in all processes of the national liberation struggle.
“The 4th of February represents an indelible mark in the history of the Angolan people, because it started the liberation process of Angola that resulted in the conquest of National Independence”, he said.
He highlighted some nationalists, and underlined that the events of the 4th of February translated into a sublime will shown by Angolans to free themselves from the Portuguese colonial regime and build a united, free and sovereign nation.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to work with all Angolans to materialize the government program for the present five-year period.
The politician Adão Cristovão Neto said that the social conditions of Angolans in rural areas and in cities where a discriminatory and exploitative policy prevailed forced some men to organize and fight for freedom.
He advised young people to follow the example of the nationalists, participating directly or indirectly in actions aimed at improving social conditions, growth and development of the country’s economy.
