Africa-Press – Angola. A blood donation carried out, in the city of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, by the militants of the Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola (P-NJANGO), reinforced, with 30 bags of 500 milliliters each, the stock of hemotherapy at the local Municipal Hospital.

The gesture, within the framework of the electoral campaign underway in the country, counted on the participation of 30 P-NJANGO militants in Zaire province on Monday.

The party’s provincial representative in Zaire, Pedro Mputuilo Júnior, said that the purpose of the donation is to help the largest health unit in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo to reduce the mortality rate due to lack of blood in the periphery.

“In addition to the campaign to hunt for votes and door-to-door mobilization, the P-NJANGO party was concerned with helping the health unit, taking into account the lack of blood recorded in all units across the country, a situation that obliges family members with hospitalized patients donating blood”, said Pedro Júnior.

“Being part of the group of young people organized to donate blood, in order to save more lives, is a satisfaction, because you never know when we will need it too. This act also allows the donor to know their serological status. another importance of donating a part of ourselves”, he said.

Sebastião Manuel, another P-NJANGO activist who also participated in the blood donation campaign, said the gesture will help save more lives for people in need, urging other organizations to follow suit.

The administrator of Mbanza Kongo Municipal Hospital welcomed the gesture of the P-NJANGO youth. Manuel Toneca acknowledged that the donation will minimize the shortage of blood in that hospital.

“Help came at the right time, as the hospital has a daily shortage of blood”, stressed Manuel Toneca, stressing that the offer by P-NJANGO reinforced the hospital’s hemotherapy stock, which is 100 bags of blood to meet the needs of patients. areas of the Emergency Bank, Pediatrics, Medicine and Maternity.

Every day, the Municipal Hospital of Mbanza Kongo carries out an average of 50 blood transfusions, as a result of complicated malaria, associated with severe anemia that needs that liquid.

Indeed, Manuel Toneca appealed to churches, youth organizations and society in general to follow the example of P-NJANGO’s youth.

P-NJANGO’s blood donation campaign was preceded by a march that started from the party’s provincial headquarters, in the Sagrada Esperança neighborhood, and ended next to the 15 Casas square, in the 11 de Novembro neighborhood.
