Africa-Press – Angola. The general secretary of the MPLA, Paulo Pombolo, Thursday, exhorted the party leaders in Malanje to combine political speeches with actions that impact on the life of the communities.

Speaking during a meeting with militants from the MPLA municipal committee in Malanje, the politician said it was necessary to live up to the party’s motto “Work More and Communicate Better”, recalling that political speeches will only have weight if they are accompanied by actions aimed at improving the living conditions of families.

He recognized that Malanje still faces many difficulties in the fields of roads, drinking water, electricity, health, among others, so the party will continue to seek solutions to these problems, in order to guarantee the well-being of citizens.

He made it known that the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) came to respond to these questions, with notable intervention in inter-municipal sections, construction of health units, schools and other infrastructure.

On the other hand, Paulo Pombolo highlighted the strength of the organization in the province, the result of the ongoing mobilization work at the base and intermediate structures, which, in his view, contradicts the narrative of certain “detractors”, according to which the MPLA is in decline in the region.

As a result, he defended continuous interaction between party leaders and grassroots militants, due to their importance in enhancing and disseminating the organisation’s guidelines.

However, he called for the continued participation of MPLA militants, friends and supporters in efforts to consolidate democracy in the country, avoiding giving in to intimidation and aggression strategies perpetrated by political opponents.

“ (…) We are for peace and we want to continue to consolidate it. We must not lose focus, ”she concluded.

The MPLA secretary general ended this afternoon a three-day working visit to Malanje province, where he maintained contact with the different structures of the organization in the municipalities of Malanje, Kiwaba Nzoji and Cangandala, as well as visited social undertakings.

His delegation included the national secretaries of OMA and JMPLA, respectively Joana Tomás and Crispiniano dos Santos, and the secretaries of the Political Bureau for Social Policy and State Reform, Public Administration and Municipalities, namely Maricel Capama and Mário Pinto de Andrade.
