Africa-Press – Angola. etro de Luanda launched its first football school this Thursday, within the framework of the “Academias Petro” project, aiming to create a sporting culture of values ​​and exchange of experiences among young people.

The project includes a partnership between Petro and several private schools in the country’s capital, with the start scheduled for next week, with the debut of the Caju school.

Speaking to the press, the club’s president, Tomás Faria, said that these charitable activities bring together sport and education much more.

“It’s a very important moment in the club’s history, which is becoming more and more great and continues to be, with each passing day, a national reference”, he stressed.

According to the president, the collective once again assumes social responsibility towards the school community.

Tomás Faria explained that practical implementation involves the promotion of sporting activities with Petro quality, covering, in the first phase, only private schools in the capital.

The idea, he continued, aims to encourage sport among younger school-aged people, creating a culture of physical exercise everywhere.

In turn, the director of Caju do Talatona school, Carla Jardim, said that the implementation of the academy will be beneficial for students’ sports education, promoting the launch of talents in national football.

Petro de Luanda was founded on January 14, 1980. It is the club with the most trophies in the National Football Championship (17).

It has already promoted athletes such as Gilberto, Flavio, Abel Campos, Savedra, Marito, Amaral Aleixo, Lamá and others who have been regulars in the national teams over the years
