Africa-Press – Angola. The Border Guard Police (PGF) in Cabinda seized 18,000 litres of petrol and diesel on Thursday, which were destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for sale. Speaking to the press on Friday, the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Cabinda, Superintendent Marcos Coxito, explained that the fuel, packaged in 20, 25 and 30 litre drums, was seized 12 nautical miles from the coast, near Lubendo beach, inside two artisanal boats. Marcos Coxito said that two national citizens involved in the crime were arrested during the micro-operation. The province of Cabinda shares a vast border with the two Congos (neighbouring countries), a situation that has been exploited by national and foreign citizens to smuggle fuel and commit other cross-border crimes.
