Africa-Press – Angola. The Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Groz, defended, in Lobito municipality, the need for greater involvement of society in the fight against environmental crimes and cattle theft, for better protection of the country’s economy.

According to the public prosecutor, who was speaking at the end of the seminar on combating environmental crimes and cattle theft, these crimes have a major impact on local economic stability.

For this reason, he advocated, the involvement of society in this process is fundamental, so that the country develops and has a strong and active economy.

Pitta Groz defended the creation of a healthy business environment, so that nationals and foreigners can invest in Angola safely, thus creating more jobs for the population and tax collection capacity.

Hélder Pitta Groz considers that, with these measures, the government will be able to improve the social conditions of the citizens, with the increase of the distribution of water, energy, construction of schools and hospitals.

In his view, this activity should not be just for the PGR, despite its constitutional duties, but also a task for society in sharing scientific and legal knowledge, as well as in the traditional practice of approaching and solving some problems.

“We must have the capacity to adopt a strong, pertinent and incisive position in the defense of the environment, which has never been so threatened as it is today”, he emphasized.
