Africa-Press – Angola. The second general commander of the Angolan National Police, chief commissioner Domingos Ferreira de Andrade, called Tuesday, on the officers to observe the fundamental rights of citizens when carrying out police activities.
According to him, the country’s current political and social context requires greater attention and dedication from the security forces, assuming themselves as the guarantor of order, stability, the normal functioning of institutions and social peace.
The police officer made these statements during the presentation of the new second provincial commander of the National Police in Malanje, Diógenes Castro da Silva Delgado.
Domingos Ferreira de Andrade recognized the daily sacrifice that police activity requires, which is why he encouraged officers to continue monitoring compliance with the laws in force in the country.
Born on December 16, 1966 in the province of Malanje, the new second provincial commander has a degree and has completed courses in D-30 Cannon Land Artillery, Military Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Anti-Disturbance, Anti-Terrorism, Command and Leadership and Management of Major Events.
He has held the positions of head of political instruction in the Political Directorate of the former Ministry of State Security, general counterintelligence officer of the Department of the same ministry, chief of staff of the anti-terrorism detachment, second commander for assurance and support of the Anti-Terrorism Unit of the Rapid Intervention Police (PIR) and head of the PIR Commander’s Office.
Diógenes Castro da Silva Delgado replaces Caetano Quitumbo in the position.
