Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, decreed, on Friday (12), under the terms of the Constitution, the Law on National and Local Holidays and National Celebration Dates and the Organic Law of General Elections, point tolerance throughout the territory. on the 24th of August, the date reserved for voting.

The initiative of the Head of State, according to a note from the Civil House of the President of the Republic made public yesterday, aims to allow all voters to exercise, on this day, their right to citizenship and democracy, taking into account that the date for the voting coincided with a normal working day.

The document also clarifies that the time allowance, now enacted, does not cover workers who work in shifts, without, however, prejudice to the obligation of these workers to be dismissed for the time necessary to exercise their right to vote, under the terms of the legislation in force.
