Police create first "Guard of Honor" exclusively for women in Huíla

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial command of the Huíla National Police presented, this Friday, the Honor Guard platoon formed exclusively by women.

Made up of 40 female officers, the Honor Guard platoon of the Provincial Command of Huíla is the first of its kind in the police force in the country and resulted from a 60-day selection and training process, during which they learned the fundamentals of the mission , said its commander, commissioner Divaldo Martins, in the act.

This is an initiative that aims to further strengthen gender equality within the corporation, signaled the senior officer of the National Police.

The presentation of this device took place at the improvement center of the aforementioned provincial command, during the closing ceremony of the instruction course in honours, police salutes, weapons and shooting, aimed at its female staff.

140 women from the corporation, from all the bodies that make up that command, participated in the said training, said the provincial commander.

The guard of honour, according to the superior officer, is an armed force specially trained and dedicated to pay homage at ceremonies and military and civil entities, which are entitled to them under the terms of the law and regulations.
