Africa-Press – Angola. The Traffic and Road Safety Directorate (DTSR) denied the lack of ballots for issuing driving licenses and booklets, at a time when it has 65,000 models for the first document and 58,000 for the second.
The information officer of the Institutional Communication and Press Office of the institution, intendant João Pereira, explained yesterday to Jornal de Angola that DTSR has no problems of lack of ballots, ensuring that there are even conditions for the letter to be delivered to the holder in less than 40 minutes. He added that citizens with less time to look for the DTSR counters can file the process and wait for a message to notify them of the date of collection of the document at one of the facilities of that National Police body.
João Pereira informed that, for citizens aged between 18 and 65 years, the license is valid for 15 years, while for those who are over 65 years old, the validity period is five years.
The information officer said that the driver who needs to renew the license must pay 40,050 kwanzas, against the 8,000 kwanzas paid previously. “Citizens who treated this document at the lowest price, but did not make the withdrawal before, must pay a difference of 23,040 kwanzas, due to the issuance ballot”.
He underlined that, weekly, DTSR delivers more than three thousand driving licenses and booklets. “It is now easier to renew the letter by presenting two documents such as: medical certificate and Identity Card, for national citizens, and resident card and medical certificate, in the case of foreigners”.
João Pereira stressed that the reduction in the number of documents to be presented was due to the measures implemented by the Executive, within the framework of the “Simplifica” program, which makes the process faster.
