Africa-Press – Angola. The general commander of the National Police (PN), Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, pointed out this Tuesday, in Luanda, the formation and permanent training of the corporation’s staff as priorities for the current year of instruction.

The general commissioner spoke at the opening of the police training year 2023/2024, a ceremony held at the Rapid Intervention Police Training Center (PIR), located in the urban district of zango 3.

According to Arnaldo Carlos, the development registered in recent years has also created new parameters of threats and risks to public security, due to radicalism, terrorism, drug trafficking, as well as actions that encourage public disorder and rebellion.

For this reason, he considered essential the permanent training and instruction of the staff, in order to guarantee public order and security, which have greatly contributed to the creation of a collective conscience and a safe and peaceful society.

“Today, we live in an increasingly dynamic society, because advances in science and technology have allowed the expansion of virtual and physical communications and their universal dissemination”, he said.

In his speech, he referred that many of the actions that take place in the world have been promoted by networks of criminals that operate almost at a planetary level, using these new technological tools that allow them to remotely control criminal actions, in several countries.

Faced with this scenario, the General Commander considered it imperative and a priority to educate and train all the country’s forces, in the various specialties, as well as equipping them with cutting-edge technologies, in order to increase the capacity of the police force to face the challenges of public safety.

In his view, training will improve technical and tactical procedures and raise the attitudes and values inherent in an increasingly professional performance.

The police instruction year 2023/2024 aims to maintain cohesion, ensure tactical and technological improvement and deepen measures to raise police and patriotic values, so as to correspond to the prevention, investigation and repression of crimes in the country.

The act was witnessed by senior officials from the general command of the National Police, the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), among other entities.
