Political agenda results from a thorough assessment of the country's reality

Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, said Wednesday in Caxito that the party’s Political Agenda for 2023 results from a broad process of internal reflection and a thorough assessment of the country’s reality multiple levels.

The party official who was speaking at the presentation of the MPLA’s Political Agenda 2023, maintained that the document is an instrument of support to the Executive, which aims to further strengthen the party’s structures and its social organizations.

In order to achieve the ten strategic axes, the MPLA should initiate initiatives and structuring actions, among which the carrying out of an in-depth analysis of the party’s balance sheet and performance at the level of the 2017 general elections.

He considered the Political Agenda a year-round beacon, which will give the party courage and determination to face not only the merits, but also the demerits that still persist.

“Today we have a society that is more open, more pluralistic, demanding and eager for greater inclusion and greater expression, where young people are the driving force behind major changes and the state of opinion”, he underlined.

For the success of the political work this year and for the love we have for the province and for Angola, we must all help to build an increasingly developed, democratic and inclusive country that responds to the anxieties and aspirations of Benguenses in particular and Angolans, he said.

The coordinator of the monitoring group of the Political Bureau secretariat for Bengo province, Carla Leitão Ribeiro de Sousa, highlighted the importance of the document in improving the social conditions of citizens and in the country’s development.

He reiterated the need to carry out permanent meetings of social consultation with the communities so that the population feels the governance of the Executive led by the MPLA.

The official asked the militants to work harder and communicate better, closing ranks around the party’s ideals.
