Portuguese police stop possible terrorist attack

Africa-Press – Angola. The Portuguese Judiciary Police announced, Thursday (10), that it had prevented a terrorist action by an 18-year-old student, who had several prohibited weapons and a written plan with details on what he intended to do to his colleagues at the University of Lisbon. The attack was supposed to take place today.

According to the Portuguese press, which cites sources from that police, the suspect is a Portuguese student with a discreet and introverted profile, who would be a massive consumer of information about shootings such as those that often happen in educational establishments in the United States. The Judiciary was alerted by the FBI, which flags content on the dark web and social networks that may indicate the planning of terrorist acts. The accused will appear today before a judge of the Central Criminal Investigation Court for questioning.

Being less frequent, these attacks are not unheard of. In October, a Danish convert to Islam killed four women and a man in Norway using the same type of instrument. In this case, nothing seems to indicate religious motivations.
