Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, is already in the city of Huambo, a province with the same name, where he will inaugurate social impact infrastructures.

At Albano Machado Airport, the Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, was received by the provincial governor, Lotti Nolika, and the local population.

According to the visit program, upon arrival, the Holder of the Executive Branch will meet with members of the government of the province of Huambo.

At this meeting, Governor Lotti Nolika will present the social and economic situation of this region of the central plateau.

President João Lourenço will inaugurate infrastructures linked to the health, media, public administration, labor and social security and culture sectors.

The Head of State’s agenda also includes visits to the Agricultural Fair taking place at the Serra Van-Dúnem Multipurpose Pavilion, and to Missão do Dondi, in the municipality of Catchiungo.

President João Lourenço was last in the province of Huambo in March 2022, where he opened the Judicial Year.

With more than one million inhabitants, the province of Huambo has 11 municipalities, namely Huambo, Bailundo, Ekunha, Cáala, Catchiungo Londuimbale, Longonjo, Mungo, Tchicala Tcholoanga, Tchindjenje and Ucuma.

The city of Huambo is a hub of economic, industrial and agricultural development and a center of excellence in the academic field, particularly in the area of ​​agricultural and veterinary research.

Huambo is also a region rich in natural and mineral resources, with a vast hydrographic network and a mild climate that make it especially suited to the development of agricultural and agri-food activities.

The President of the Republic’s return to Luanda is scheduled for Saturday.
