Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, will, as of Wednesday, carry out a two-day State visit to the Republic of Italy, at the invitation of the authorities of this European country.
João Lourenço, who leaves the Angolan capital on Tuesday, will meet his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, and the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. With the latter he will have a working lunch.
According to the spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Luís Fernando, the Angolan Head of State will attend a dinner, to be hosted by President Sergio Mattarella, and a business forum with businessmen from Angola and Italy.
In the continuation of his visit, President João Lourenço will grant audiences to businessmen.
Angola and Italy established diplomatic relations on the 4th of June 1976. Venâncio de Moura was the first Angolan ambassador in this country, having presented the Letters of Credence to the then President of the Italian Republic, Giovanni Leone, on the 21st of November 1977.
