Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, today, Monday, urged the advisory judges of the Court of Auditors (TC) to create greater capacity to monitor projects essential to the development of the national economy and to the improvement of the living conditions of the populations .

“The Executive is at a pace that I consider good and we are thinking of accelerating it even more”, he declared, calling on the advisory judges to “create greater capacity so that the Court of Auditors can keep up with our pace of work”.

The Holder of Executive Power, João Lourenço, was speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the President of the TC, Sebastião Domingos Ngunza, of Counselor Judges of the Court of Auditors and the Supreme Court.

On the occasion, the President of the Republic declared that the Executive, “modesty aside, intends and is doing a lot in a short space of time” and wants to do more, therefore it is necessary that the TC’s response capacity be created.

João Lourenço expects agility in the action of the Court of Auditors to avoid bottlenecks in the pace of execution of infrastructure construction projects in sectors such as energy and water.

According to the holder of the Executive Power, the country needs to offer more energy, more water for industries and populations, as well as infrastructure for public construction works, roads and bridges.

He also referred to the need to build more school infrastructure at all levels and more hospitals, only possible to materialize if the Court of Auditors manages to keep up with the speed of the Executive.

At the ceremony, Sebastião Domingos Gunza was sworn in as presiding judge of the Court of Auditors, as well as Sebastião Jorge Bessa, Manuel da Cruz Neto, Armindo Gidião and Januário José Domingos as advisory judges of the same court.

Carlos Alberto Cavuquila was sworn in as advisor to the Supreme Court.
