President João Lourenço Attends Rhythms of the Atlantic

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço on Wednesday night attended the Rhythms of the Atlantic Festival, a music and dance show, where tango stood out.

At the gathering, under the aegis of the Interministerial Commission for the organization of the commemorative activities of the 50th Anniversary of National Independence, the Head of State was accompanied by the First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço.

The music and dance show kept the artistic group Tango Show from Argentina on stage for almost two hours.

It was essentially a night of tango, with a light demonstration of kizomba, in the final part.

The show Rhythms of the Atlantic was an artistic presentation, guided by a symbolic statement about the role of culture in the construction of national identity.

By bringing together musical expressions from different continents on the same stage, the event celebrated not only Angola”s trajectory since independence, but also its ability to open up to the world without losing its roots.

The Vice President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, the Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Gróz, Presidents of Superior Courts and as well as ministers also attended the event.
