Africa-Press – Angola. A message from the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, to his Zambian counterpart, Hakainde Hichilema, was delivered on Tuesday in Lusaka by the Foreign Affairs minister, Téte António.
According to a note, in the message, João Lourenço expresses his solidarity with the Zambian people and government, as well as calls for the deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations, including issues of mutual interest at the regional and continental domains.
The message was delivered to President Hakainde Hichilema in the presence of the Angolan delegation composed of the Minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos, the Secretary of State for the Interior for Technical Assistance, Cristino Ndeitunga, the Angolan Ambassador to Zambia, Albino Malungo, among others.
Angola and Zambia share a border approximately 1,100 km long, marked by rivers, tropical forests, and savannas. Relations between the two countries are historically marked by cooperation, strategic proximity, and common interests.
The two countries tre members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR). The two nations have a relationship at the highest level on issues related to peace, stability and security in the region.
