Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, was the highlight of the first edition of the Forbes award, as he was the winner of the “Individuality and Social Responsibility” category, in recognition of his political career and his governmental and leadership action in your country.

The respective distinction was made on Friday night (21), in Luanda (Angolan capital), during the awards gala for companies and distinguished individuals that stood out in social responsibility actions, organized by Forbes Africa Lusófona Magazine.

On the occasion, the Cape Verdean Head of State thanked and congratulated Forbes’ initiative, considering the event of great importance, for honoring economic agents operating in Angola and engaged in social responsibility issues, an action that must be recognized, praised and encouraged.

With initiatives of this kind, the statesman hopes that companies continue to use their political and social influence to transform realities, through social and business responsibility actions, as well as the dissemination of good management practices of inclusive, intelligent leadership capabilities and responsible, in addition to generating wealth and jobs.

In addition to the distinction of the President of Cape Verde, Angolan individuals committed to the social actions of the most vulnerable were also recognized.

Among those distinguished, five individuals stood out: João Brás, Elisângela Valetim, Paula de Morais, Teresa Pires and Ntumba Camunga, who together were the winners of the special category “Anonymous Heroes”.

According to the organization of the Forbes Social Responsibility award, this category aims to recognize people who create social projects to combat poverty, promoting small actions that make citizens useful to the family and society.

Grupo Carrinho wins “Great Social Responsibility Award”

Alongside the distinction of the aforementioned individuals, the “Carrinho” business group was the winner of the “Great Social Responsibility Prize” category, with emphasis on its school lunch program.

Additionally, seven other categories were also distinguished, namely “Agriculture, distribution and logistics”, “Trade and industry”, “Engineering and construction”, “Oil, gas and mines”, “Financial sector”, “Telecommunications”, “Public sector business”.

The respective categories were won by the companies “Carrinho”, Refriango, Omatapalo, Pumangol, Banco Milennium Atlântico, Unitel and Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, respectively.

The winners of all categories received trophies and honorable mentions from the organization.

Under the motto “Celebrate peace, support society, invest with justice”, the event essentially aimed to recognize business leaders, public figures, members of civil society and praise projects that are dedicated to contributing positively to the well-being of communities.

Forbes Lusophone Africa, which in 2021 replaced Forbes Angola, is a magazine focused on cross-cutting themes for Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP).
