Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, stated, Thursday, that the fight against corruption and impunity, a process that aims at humane and responsible management of public affairs, “is a commitment of all who want a prosperous, fair Angola and attractive.”
In a post on his official social media page, the Head of State also encouraged “all of society to stop this devastating phenomenon, on this day dedicated to the fight against this scourge”.
In 2017, when he took office, João Lourenço chose corruption, nepotism and impunity as the main evils to combat during his mandate.
The President of the Republic then recognized that corruption and nepotism were widespread in the country, and argued that these same evils should be fought and defeated, as they affect investor confidence and undermine Angola’s reputation and productivity.
