Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, carried out this Wednesday, in Luanda, the inauguration of the Hospital Marterno-Infantil Manuel Pedro Azancot de Menezes, located in the Urban District of Camama, on a day that commemorates the 1st of June (International Day of child).
The act was witnessed by the Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, members of the Executive, among other guests.
The Hospital Materno-Infantil Dr. Manuel Pedro Azancot de Menezes has seven floors with an administrative area, maternity unit, emergency room, space for outpatient consultations, pediatric intensive care units with 10 beds, two of which are for isolation to treat infectious diseases.
The hospital also has 10 state-of-the-art incubators, two of which are intended for isolation with technical conditions capable of supporting critically ill newborns who need oxygen, a parking lot, among other compartments.
Manuel Pedro Azancot de Menezes was born in São Tomé and Príncipe in March 1923 and became famous in Angola, Cape Verde, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.
