Africa-Press – Angola. The presiding judge of the Supreme Court, Joel Leonardo, yesterday inspected the operation of the courts in the Comarca of Cuito and Andulo, in Bié province, having promoted a meeting with local workers.
Joel Leonardo was accompanied by the deputy attorney general of the Republic, Inocência Maria Gonçalo Pinto, the governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, judges and members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary.
The governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, told the local press that the provincial government and the Supreme Court should make efforts to upgrade infrastructures and build others in the region, to strengthen justice services.
Also this afternoon, the president of the Supreme Court visited the new rooms and offices of the Court of the Comarca of Cuito, placed in the old “hotel IU”, as well as held a meeting with the judicial magistrates.
As part of his stay in Bié province, Joel Leonardo inaugurated, on Wednesday, the Camacupa District Court, 82 kilometers east of the city of Cuito, as well as delivering various means of support to local judicial activity.
This court will also serve citizens of the municipalities of Catabola and Cuemba, within the scope of the new judicial map in force in the country.
