Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-one families have been displaced since the last two days, in the municipality of Cambundi Catembo (185 kilometers from the city of Malanje), as a result of the destruction of their homes, caused by the rain.

The information was given today by the spokeswoman for the Provincial Command of Civil Protection and Firefighters, Júlia da Conceição, adding that the said families comprise 101 people, including children, who are crying out for support.

The official did not provide further details about the situation, noting that in addition to this, there are also incidents recorded by the firefighters, the suicide by hanging of a minor under 17 years of age, which took place on Sunday (9), in the commune of Caribo, municipality from Cangandala.

He explained that the teenager decided to take his own life because he had damaged a neighbor’s motorcycle, whose damage he would not be able to afford.
