Africa-Press – Angola. The Executive foresees a generalized drop in the prices of the main products of the Basic Basket registered in the Strategic Food Reserve (REA) of at least 17.2 percent, compared to the month of November 2021, until 10 April.

In this period, from the 4th to the 10th of this month, it is estimated that the price of wheat flour (25-kilogram bag) will drop to 10,250 kwanzas (55.5 percent less), against the 23,033 kwanzas practiced in November 2021, while the bag of cornmeal, also weighing 25 kilograms, is expected to drop to 9,300 kwanzas (23.9 percent less), compared to 13,800 kwanzas in November 2021.

The 50-kilogram bag of sugar, which cost 24,200, could drop to 22,600 (minus 6.6 percent), the 25-kilogram bag of rice from 11,737 to 8,790 kwanzas (minus 29.3 percent) and the Myanmar rice bag, of 25 kg, it reduces from 10 thousand to 8,700 kwanzas (13 percent less).

Meanwhile, the 12-liter box of soybean oil went from 17,450 kwanzas to 13,800 (20.9 percent less), while the 10-kilogram chicken drumstick, which cost 10,190 kwanzas, is already sold at 8,250 kwanzas (minus 19 percent).

On the other hand, the REA foresees a rise in the price of pinto beans of 25 kilograms from 24,000 to 28,750 kwanzas, an increase of 19.8 percent.

The respective values, according to the managers of the REA, are valid for the entire national territory and are only compared with those of the month of November of last year, when the country’s Food Strategy Reserve had not yet been created, activated on 21 December. of 2021.
