Africa-Press – Angola. The Palestinian ambassador to Angola, Jubrael Alshomali, highlighted, Tuesday (29), in Luanda, the continuous support of the Angolan Government to the liberation and self-determination of the Palestinian people, having considered Angola a friendly country.

The diplomat was speaking to press on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, established by the United Nations (UN). The date marks the anniversary of UN General Assembly Resolution 181 of November 29, 1947, which approved the partition plan for Palestine.

On the occasion, Jubrael Alshomali saluted Angolan diplomacy for the vote of confidence and solidarity shown to Palestine during the UN General Assembly, held on 11th of this month, in Bali, Indonesia.

“Palestine and Angola are friendly countries, whose relations are very credible and historic”, expressed the ambassador, stressing that the relationship between the parties dates back to the struggle for the Independence of Angola, via the leaders Agostinho Neto and Yasser Arafat, when the country Africans received help from Palestine.

The Palestinian territory is located in Asia, precisely in the Middle East. It is located between the Sea and the Jordan River, in the east, and the Mediterranean Sea, in the west.
