Africa-Press – Angola. The works to requalify sidewalks and replace curbs in the Txicumina neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Saurimo (Lunda Sul), have, in recent days, given a new image to the district.
The project includes, in addition to the renovation of sidewalks and curbs, over a length of 550 meters, the installation of twenty lighting posts and leisure areas, such as an open-air gym and kiosks.
The project is being carried out by the company War Cip and budgeted at 150 million kwanzas, with delivery scheduled for next November.
According to the municipal administrator of Saurimo, Adérito Cahanga, the works will give greater dignity to the population and improve the image of the city, with a view to attracting more visitors.
Speaking to the press at the end of a visit to inspect the works, carried out by the governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, the person in charge made it known that similar works are taking place in other locations in the province.
He appealed to contractors to meet contract deadlines.
The municipality of Saurimo has an estimated population of 534 thousand 231 inhabitants.
